TYPE THHN/THWN/THWN-2
Scope
This specification covers type THHN/THWN/THWN-2 cable with soft annealed copper solid or stranded conductor, PVC insulation and nylon jacket, conforming to Standard 83 of Underwriters Laboratories, Inc. They meet the requirements of the VW-1 and CT flame test, gasoline and oil resistant, sunlight resistant. UL file No. E210924.
Application
THHN/THWN/THWN-2 are primarily used in conduit and cable trays for services, feeders and branch circuits in commercial or industrial applications as specified in the National Electrical Code. THHN is rated at a conductor temperature of 90℃ dry, THWN is rated at a conductor temperature of 75℃ dry or wet, THWN-2 is rated at a conductor temperature of 90℃ dry or wet. They are permitted for 600V application.
Construction
Conductors: Soft annealed copper, bare or tinned.
Sizes 14AWG-1000kcmil: Solid or stranded.
Insulation: Flame retardant PVC. Thickness: per UL83.
Jacket: Nylon. Thickness: per UL83.
Information on the cable: AWG or kcmil size, type letters, rated voltage, the name of the manufacturer, UL file number, characteristic, manufacture date, FEET.
